The role

Senior Community Work Supervisors, along with Community Work Supervisors,  oversee and manage people undertaking their community work sentence. They work with people from the time they are inducted into their community work sentence and provide support to engage them in completing their hours. It is also an opportunity to develop work and social skills.

In addition they manage people who are on community detention, a sentence that restricts people’s movements on an electronically monitored curfew.

They have a people-orientated approach as well as the ability to motivate and encourage others while being patient and enforcing the rules.

What's on offer

- 40 hour week, working Tuesday to Saturday 8 hours per day
- Salary between $58,313 - $65,678 depending on experience
- Initial learning pathway of one week at Ara Tika (induction in Wellington) then on the job training

What you need

- Experience leading and mentoring a team
- Good relationship management skills
- Able to deal with immediate safety risks
- Full New Zealand Driver Licence and ability to drive a manual vehicle
- Ability to pass a drug test
